9:00am–5:00pm (30-minute break) or 9:00am–5:30pm (1-hour break)
An established manufacturing business based in Musselburgh is seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse / Factory Operative to join its growing team.
This role is responsible for supporting the efficient movement of materials and finished goods throughout the production process, from goods intake through to dispatch.
You will also play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and operational efficiency across the site.
As our Warehouse / Factory Operative you will:
- Prepare pallets and products for dispatch.
- Wrap boxes, reels, and finished goods ready for shipment.
- Pick and prepare stock for upcoming production jobs.
- Carry out stock checks and inventory movements.
- Prepare polymer and primer mixes.
- Receive incoming deliveries, inspecting and recording goods received.
- Load outgoing goods and maintain accurate dispatch records.
- Liaise with office staff to support daily operational requirements.
- Manage factory waste and empty compactors as required.
- Ensure factory laundry is prepared for collection and properly stored upon return.
- Maintain records of approved and defective semi-finished and finished products.
- Operate a forklift to move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised production environment, including external grounds and office areas.
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies throughout the facility.
- Assist with basic laboratory duties.
- Identify and sort defective products.
- Repair damaged pallets when required.
- Support production operations, including waste handling and pallet preparation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, factory, or manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- A practical approach and the physical capability to undertake manual handling tasks.
- High school education or equivalent (technical qualifications are advantageous).
- A valid forklift licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
